Trip Origin Story:
After delayed flights, missed connections, and lost luggage, our operations lead, Dave, arrived a day late for a 5-day winter trek.
In Puerto Natales, he met our host, “Pampa” Gonzalo, who had arranged a private boat to reunite him with the group and even lent him a jacket—since he arrived with only the clothes on his back and tennis shoes. Thanks to Pampa’s quick thinking, the trek was an incredible (if slightly stinky) success.
A year later, our founder and Dave’s wife, Breanne, found herself paddling Japan’s Mukawa River with the one and only Pampa. They quickly realized their connection and celebrated the serendipity. Five days on the river cemented both a love for Japan and a lasting friendship.
Once a finance professional, Pampa left that life over 30 years ago to guide in Patagonia. His passion for conservation runs deep—he even formed an alliance with competitors to protect the land. Most recently, he opened the first camp in Torres del Paine built entirely on a 100% plastic-lumber foundation made locally in Puerto Natales.
Five countries, two continents, and countless laughs later, we’re thrilled to officially partner with Pampa—sharing his knowledge, commitment to sustainability, and spirit of collaboration. We can’t wait to show you his corner of the planet.

Let’s begin the trip of a lifetime!
Welcome to Puerto Natales—one of the southernmost cities in the world!
Upon arrival at the Puerto Natales Airport, you’ll be met by our private transfer and driven to your hotel in the city.Puerto Natales is a charming gateway to Chilean Patagonia and a wonderful introduction to the region’s soul. Here, you can complement your nature-based excursions with a taste of local life—its warm people, rich cuisine, and vibrant art scene.
Nestled between the sea, forests, and mountains along the Última Esperanza Sound, Puerto Natales is the ideal base for exploring Torres del Paine National Park and many other Patagonian wonders.
Be sure to take a walk along the scenic waterfront path (Costanera de Puerto Natales), where you'll get stunning views of the Patagonian hills, sea, and local wildlife—including swans and flamingos near the old wooden docks.

Hike Duration: 5 hours, 13 km / 8 mi
Difficulty: Moderate
Today, we journey two hours from Puerto Natales to Estancia Lazo, a 13,000-hectare (32,123-acre) working cattle ranch with incredible views of the Paine Massif and Laguna Verde.
Our hike begins here, entering Torres del Paine National Park via a gently rolling trail that winds through serene native forests of beech and coigüe trees.
Keep your eyes open for condors, caranchos, guanacos, woodpeckers, owls, and Austral parakeets. We'll pass Honda Lagoon and climb to the Toro Lake lookout (559 m / 1,834 ft), offering panoramic views of the Grey, Serrano, and Paine Rivers, the Serrano Valley, Mount Balmaceda, and the Geike and Tyndall Glaciers.
After a short descent to Weber Bridge, our private transfer takes us to our riverside campsite, where a warm welcome dinner and stunning views of the Paine Massif await.

Hike Duration: 8–10 hours, 22 km / 13.6 mi
Difficulty: Difficult
Today, we tackle one of the iconic highlights of the W Trek: the hike to the Torres (Towers) lookout.
After a 1.5 hour transfer to the beginning of the trek, we’ll follow the Ascencio River into the dramatic Ascencio Valley, filled with beech forests, waterfalls, and glaciers.
The final ascent leads us up a rocky terminal moraine to the famous viewpoint at 900 m (2,953 ft). Here, the three granite towers rise majestically above a turquoise glacial lagoon—an unforgettable sight.
After soaking in the views and enjoying lunch, we’ll return along the same trail to our campsite or refugio (depending on availability).

Hike Duration: 4–5 hours, 13 km / 8 mi
Difficulty: Easy
After breakfast and picking up your packed lunch, we set off on a scenic hike to Refugio Cuernos.
Along the way, we’ll pass Inge Lagoon, a hotspot for spotting condors and other birds of prey. The trail gradually ascends 200 meters at the base of Almirante Nieto Mountain (2,750 m), crosses the Bader River, and continues on to our destination.

Catamaran Ride: 35 minutes each way
Hike Duration: 7–8 hours, 17 km / 10.5 mi
Difficulty: Moderate
Today we explore the breathtaking French Valley—a natural amphitheater surrounded by jagged peaks and hanging glaciers.
We begin by hiking through forested trails and over glacial moraines to a panoramic viewpoint. As we climb through a landscape reminiscent of a Japanese garden, we’ll reach the French Valley "Plateau," where we are treated to panoramic views of Paine Grande, the French Glacier, and the towering spires of Los Cuernos.
After a picnic lunch, we descend toward Paine Grande and take a 35-minute catamaran ride across Lake Pehoe to Pudeto. Our private transfer will return us to our riverside camp.

Today is yours to rest and recharge. Sleep in, enjoy a slow morning, walk along the riverbank, or explore nearby trails in the village of Serrano.
We’ll also be gathering for mindfulness sessions and reflection our time together thus far.

Boat Duration: 3 hours
Difficulty: Easy
After breakfast, we return to Torres del Paine National Park for one last awe-inspiring adventure. We’ll walk 30 minutes along Grey Beach, then board a boat for a 3-hour navigation among floating blue icebergs to the immense face of Grey Glacier.
With luck, we might witness a calving event—when chunks of ice break off and crash into the icy water below. On the way back, take in the surreal “ice mushrooms” perched atop the peaks of Paine Grande.
Back in Puerto Natales, we’ll gather for a final celebration: an authentic Patagonian lamb barbecue at the Chile Nativo quincho—a traditional outdoor kitchen and social gathering space in Patagonia.

A private transfer will take you to the Puerto Natales airport in time for your flight. As you leave, carry with you the memory of glacial vistas, rugged trails, and the warm spirit of Patagonia.

November is technically spring time in Patagonia!
The average temperature in November for Torres Del Paine is 50F- 60F during the day and 40F and below during the night.
November is typically the driest month of the year, however, weather can change very quickly in Patagonia, so being prepared with layers and appropriate gear (you will receive a packing list) is vital.

You’ll need to make sure you are in Puerto Natales by 4PM on Day 1.
There is an option to fly into Punta Arenas, which is about 3 hours from Puerto Natales. But please note: there is a $90 each way transfer fee from Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales.
Please depart Puerto Natales, Chile no earlier than 3PM time on the final day.

We classify this trip as a level 4+ out of 5.
This is the right trip for energetic people who like to be active and have a spirit of adventure and a positive attitude. To enjoy this trek it is essential to be in shape before you arrive. It is not wise to regard this trek as a means of getting into shape. Start a program of conditioning well before departure.
We provide a general fitness program and are happy to develop a custom strategy by our in-house personal trainer for anyone interested.

Chile Nativo Lotus Belle Tent Camp (3 nights)
Set along the banks of the Serrano River, this riverside glamping camp offers a perfect balance of wilderness immersion and modern comfort.

Refugios / Campsites in Torres del Paine(3 nights)
During your multi-day W Trek, you’ll stay in a combination of mountain refugios (shared lodges) and well-equipped campsites. These accommodations are simple yet welcoming, offering:
Shared bunk-style or twin-bed rooms (depending on availability)
Communal dining areas with hearty meals served daily
Access to hot showers, bathrooms, and cozy shared spaces
Packed lunches provided each morning for your day on the trail
These mountain refuges provide a warm place to recharge after each day’s hike and a chance to connect with fellow adventurers from around the world. Whether we stay in refugios or tent camping depends on availability.
Hotel in Puerto Natales(1 night)
On your arrival night, you’ll stay in a welcoming hotel in Puerto Natales with easy access to the waterfront, restaurants, and town highlights. This comfortable hotel provides a smooth landing in Patagonia before the trekking begins.

This is a trekking trip, however it is not a backpacking trip so you will not be carrying a large pack.
Porters transport your luggage to each new overnight accommodation.
You will carry a day pack (recommended with hydration bladder) to hold your needed gear (sunscreen, water, camera, extra layers, etc.) for day hikes.

Food will vary depending on the location. Camp food and refugio food are quite basic, while your glamping set up provides beautiful meals.
All dietary requests can be arranged in advance.

While this journey takes you deep into one of the most remote and beautiful regions on Earth, you’ll still have access to basic modern comforts throughout the trip.
Chile Nativo Lotus Belle Tent Camp
24-hour electricity is available, with power outlets in the tents, bathrooms, and central dome.
Wi-Fi is available in the Central Dome, allowing you to check in or share a moment from your adventure (though we recommend embracing the unplugged experience when possible).
Tents are equipped with central heat for a warm and cozy night’s sleep.
Mountain Refugios / Campsites
Refugios offer access to electricity in common areas for charging devices, though availability may be limited and sometimes shared among guests.
Wi-Fi can be used via a paid service, but in general can be limited in remote areas of the park—this is a great time to disconnect and fully immerse yourself in the natural world.
We recommend bringing a portable power bank if you want to keep devices charged while hiking.
Puerto Natales Hotel
Full electricity and Wi-Fi access are available at your hotel on the first and last night of the trip.

You’ll have access to clean and comfortable bathroom facilities throughout your journey—whether at our luxury tent camp or along the trail.
Chile Nativo Lotus Belle Tent Camp
Each tent has access to a private bathroom with a hot shower, toilet, and sink.
Towels and bathroom amenities are provided, so no need to pack your own.
Bathrooms are equipped with 24-hour electricity and are cleaned daily.
The experience feels rustic in setting but offers elevated comfort and convenience.
Mountain Refugios / Campsites
Refugios have shared bathrooms with flush toilets and hot showers, though water pressure and availability can sometimes vary depending on weather and use.
Campsites along the W Trek also have shared toilet and shower facilities—basic but maintained.
It’s a good idea to bring flip-flops, a quick-dry towel, and travel-size toiletries for this portion of the trip.
Showers may have designated hours of availability in some locations, especially during busy seasons.
Puerto Natales Hotel
Your hotel stay includes a private ensuite bathroom with a full shower and toilet, offering a comfortable start and end to your journey.

This journey includes some of the most rewarding hikes in the world—through dramatic landscapes, varied terrain, and unpredictable Patagonian weather. To fully enjoy the experience, we recommend beginning physical preparation at least 2–3 months in advance. You’ll also be receiving a full training plan as well at about 3 months out.
What to Expect
You’ll be hiking 4–10 hours per day, with daily distances ranging from 8–22 km (5–14 miles). Trails include rocky paths, steep ascents, uneven terrain, and long descents, sometimes with a heavy wind chill factor. While you don’t need to be an elite athlete, a moderate to high level of fitness will help you feel strong and confident on the trail.
Training Suggestions
Hike regularly with a light daypack (10–15 lbs), focusing on elevation gain and long distances.
Strength train your legs and core 2–3 times per week to support joint stability and balance.
Practice walking on uneven terrain, if possible, to get used to rocky and varied trail conditions.
Include cardio workouts (cycling, swimming, or running) to build endurance.
Test out your hiking boots well in advance to avoid blisters—break them in on real trails, not just around the house.
Listen to Your Body
Training is not about perfection—it’s about giving your body and mind the chance to adapt. Even with preparation, some days will feel tough, and that’s part of the adventure.
