  • Puerto Viejo, Costa Rica, has a tropical rainforest climate, meaning warm temperatures and humidity year-round, with rainfall spread throughout the year rather than distinct dry and wet seasons.

    Average Temperatures:

    🌡️ Daytime: 80–88°F (27–31°C)
    🌡️ Nighttime: 70–75°F (21–24°C)

    Rainfall & Seasons:

    Unlike other parts of Costa Rica, Puerto Viejo’s weather doesn’t follow the country's typical dry (Dec–April) and rainy (May–Nov) seasons. Instead, the driest months tend to be September, October, and March, while November through January often see more rain. However, showers are usually brief, followed by sunshine.

    Even during rainy periods, showers often come in bursts, leaving plenty of time for outdoor adventures. The warm Caribbean waters and vibrant jungle make it a year-round paradise!

  • Puerto Viejo is located deep in the Caribbean jungle making for a true cultural and nature immersion. We will take care of the details to make the experience as smooth as possible.

    For the quickest and most seamless journey, fly into Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) and we will arrange a 35-minute connecting flight to Limón Airstrip (LIO). Sansa Airlines operates multiple daily flights from a small terminal within walking distance of SJO.
