5 Things You Need to Know About Joining Us in Ecuador

1. What exactly is this trip?

It’s a small-group journey into the Ecuadorian Andes, centered around a traditional plant medicine experience. But the ceremony is just one part of the journey. We’ve thoughtfully designed the entire experience to include opportunities to connect with Ecuadorian culture and landscapes, prepare for the experience, and make space for reflection and integration afterward.

2. Do I need to have experience with plant medicine?

Not at all! We anticipate that many of our travelers will be exploring plant medicine for the first time.

What matters most is approaching the experience with respect for the sacredness of the practice, an openness to learning, and a willingness to engage in the preparation, reflection, and integration that surround it.

And importantly, participating in the ceremony is always your choice. There’s absolutely no pressure to consume plant medicine. You’re welcome to engage with the experience in whatever way feels right for you.

3. What makes this experience different from other plant medicine retreats?

The intention behind every detail.

From the traditional practitioner and the setting to the intimate group size, the time spent in nature, and the preparation and integration woven into the journey, every element has been thoughtfully considered.

We've spent considerable time researching and developing this experience because we believe that when it comes to plant medicine, the people, the setting, and the support surrounding the experience matter just as much as the ceremony itself.

This isn't a large retreat center with dozens of participants. It's an intentionally designed journey that honors the traditions of plant medicine while creating space for each person to engage with the experience in their own way.

4. Why horses?

This might be one of our favorite parts of the entire journey.

Following the plant medicine experience, we’ll dedicate a day to integration at Hacienda El Porvenir, a beautiful Andean hacienda home to more than 40 horses and deeply rooted in Chagra (Andean cowboy) culture.

Through a Horse-Guided Empowerment® session, facilitated by a professional guide, you’ll have the opportunity to connect with horses without riding them. Instead, the experience invites you to slow down, tune into your body and emotions, and reflect on what’s surfaced during your journey.

Horses offer a unique way to explore presence, awareness, and connection. Paired with the extraordinary landscapes of the Andes, this experience creates space to process your experience, explore what feels meaningful, and begin integrating your insights into everyday life.

Because the experience doesn't end with the ceremony. It's also about making space for what comes next.

5. Who is this trip really for?

This journey is for the seekers, the curious explorers, and those who feel drawn to understanding themselves and the world around them a little more deeply.

You don't need to have all the answers or even know exactly what you're looking for. Just a genuine curiosity, an openness to new perspectives, and a willingness to make space for whatever the experience brings.

This isn't about chasing a breakthrough or coming home as a different person. It's about slowing down, paying attention, and giving yourself the space to explore what matters to you, without needing to force a particular outcome.

You don't have to know what you'll find. You just have to be open to exploring.
